Responsibility, Obligations, & Adventures

Lord of the Rings

Upon finding the ring, Frodo is oblivious to the eventful journey that is about to unfold. However, after his talk with Gandalf, he takes on a great sense of responsibility after realizing the magnitude of the rings power. Frodo’s obvious responsibility is a result of the recognition that middle earths survival depends on this ring. Also, I believe that Frodo is very humble, and relies on the reality that the ring ended up in his hands for a reason so it is now his duty to do what is necessary. Very often today people have extreme feelings of obligation towards their fellow humans, although very seldom do they enjoy it. Everyone is a “people pleaser” to some extent. What they decide to do may not make them happy or may be against something within them, but often it is much easier to just do what is needed to make others happy rather than feeling guilty or arguing. Not fulfilling obligations can also generate a great sense of regret. After taking on the ring and accepting the baggage that came with it, Frodo felt that all of middle earth now relied on him. However, shortly into the journey the affects of the ring on young, un-heroic Frodo start to become more visible. Even though it is Frodo’s responsibility to deliver the ring and   the fate of middle earth relies on him, he struggles with the affects of the ring. Seeing the affects of the ring on their companion Smeagle worries Frodo, as he sees that the ring may have the same affect on him after a short time and hold him prisoner forever as well. Just a small hobbit does not believe that he has the strength to restrain from the greed and mind torture that the power of the ring creates. The ring causes many obstacles for Frodo and the Fellowship on their journey to destroy the ring. It is the rings intention to survive, working against Frodo’s will to eliminate it. However Frodo does not let this discourage him, and presses on in the journey which is his responsibility. With the enormous support of his friends and his conscious Frodo is on the journey to fulfill his responsibility and obligations.

CHANGE

“Change, is the only constant.”
-Proverb Quotes
Proverb : a memorable concrete saying or expression that can be realted to any situation. Proverbs are usually based on a specific experience that speaks the truth or fact.

This quote speaks to me because of it's great truth. There is nothing in the world that can be relied on. Something is always changing, evovling or dissapearing. Whether it is the growth from a tadpole to a frog, an economic downfall, the outbreak of war or even the eather. Change is predictable, not at an exact moment but always predictable. There is never any doubt or misconception that it will occur, therefore making it the only invariable in life. If a human being can rely on anything, it's the garuntee that there is something different to come. keeping life as interesting as ever  :)
